For Love is From God

There is a way to say something very harsh, that cuts to the soul, and yet do so out of love, and with a genuine concern for the person you’re speaking to. How? It’s to remember that YOU are a sinner saved by the Grace of God and deserve hell without the righteousness of Christ. Humble yourself.
1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

Remember also it is possible to be angry (at sin) and NOT SIN. Ephesians 4:26

Even when Jesus overturned the tables in the courtyard of the temple he did so IN LOVE for the people that he ultimately died for. There is a verse in the Bible about loving your enemies I believe. Something about ‘coals of fire heaped on their heads’ In other words it makes them ebarrassed of their OWN evil behavior in light of your good behavior if you speak and act in love and concern for them. They may not let YOU see it, but they’re under conviction. And isn’t that what we Christians are really here for? To draw people to repentance by sharing the gospel?

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Proverbs 25:21-22 If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; For you will heap burning coals on his head, And the LORD will reward you.

Luke 6:27-36 …bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. “But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men. “But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, “Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also; and whoever takes away your coat, do not withhold your shirt from him either. “Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back. “Treat others the same way you want them to treat you. “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. “If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. “If you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners in order to receive back the same amount. “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
